Grey Sky Films Creates Fun New Commercial Content for Jenkinson’s Boardwalk!

 

Jenkinson’s 2022 Commercial Revamp

This past June, Grey Sky Films had the opportunity to film something very special – new commercial content for Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant, New Jersey! We originally filmed a commercial for them back in 2017 and realized that after almost 5 years it was time for an update! Filmed over the course of two days, we packed our schedule full of some amazing locations like the Aquarium, the Arcade, Mini Golf, Rides, Adventure Lookout Ropes Course and of course, the gorgeous Point Pleasant Beach! We wanted it to emulate the grandeur of a Theme Park or a Cruise Line commercial, focused on kids having fun in the sun and making memories. Picture big smiles and laughter in the air. This is why we cast eight child actors, all under the age of 13, as well as two adult actors to play the “adult supervision”, all having fun in the sun, enjoying games and rides, and learning all about sharks, penguins, seals and sting rays at the Jenkinson’s Aquarium! Jenkinsons_commercial6    Jenkinsons_commercial4

Summertime Fun

Production wise, the crew had an absolute blast! Our camera operators got to ride swings and roller coasters and ran barefoot on the beach under the palm trees while capturing the summertime fun.  As with all productions, there are some challenges we expected. We filmed during open hours of the boardwalk so our crew had to maneuver filming around the general crowd of people, which included school field trips, family vacations, morning joggers,college students and more. We filmed outside all day under the hot sun so sunblock was a must! Thankfully, we had two really beautiful, low humidity days, perfect for filming and perfect Jersey Shore weather! Scheduling proved an interesting challenge. Navigating from one end of the boardwalk to the other with all of our camera and lighting equipment was certainly a sight to see! And, of course, getting our animal friends in the Aquarium to perform. One sting ray in particular was feeling extra splashy around the cameras. As always, we rose to the challenges and overcame them with flying colors! And we got some amazing shots of the animals, the boardwalk, and the beach! Jenkinsons_commercial3    Jenkinsons_commercial2Grey Sky succeeded in meeting our goal of creating two 30 second spots for the Ad. We also created additional commercial content to play on Jenkinson’s large LCD screens along the boardwalk! You can see the spots on Jenkinson’s website, YouTube and social media channels. And if you happen to be strolling down the Point Pleasant boardwalk one day, keep an eye out for the LCD screens scattered around!

Nostalgia

For many of our cast and crew members, Jenkinson’s Boardwalk holds a very special place in our hearts. We grew up going “down the shore” and most of the time that meant Jenkinson’s Boardwalk. It was so much fun to get back to our roots and film this commercial content for them. Everyone had a great time on the beach and riding roller coasters and playing arcade games. We even got to hang out in the seal enclosure with Luseal and Noelani the Harbor Seals! Lunchtime proved more fun than usual when we got to treat ourselves to some boardwalk food like endless fries, spicy sausage and pepper sandwiches, and the best burgers around! Some crew members even enjoyed cooling down with classic Chocolate and Vanilla Twist cones at Kohr’s Ice Cream after each day to celebrate a hard day’s work! All in all, it was a hugely successful and extremely memorable shoot, and we can’t wait to do it again.Jenkinsons_commercial1    Jenkinsons_commercial5

Brands Mark Has Worked With

Mark’s love and passion for photography started at a very young age. His father had built a darkroom in the basement of their house and for a young Mark, the spark was ignited. He saw the magic of watching a simple piece of photo paper transform into an image right in front of his eyes and he was hooked. Right then and there he decided he needed to be involved in that creative world somehow. Not knowing exactly where or how to break into the industry after graduating William Paterson University of New Jersey, Mark felt the best approach would be to start his own production company.

Professionally, Mark has spent the last 20+ years as a co-founder of Grey Sky Films and has directed thousands of videos. He feels lucky to have had the privilege to work with agencies and clients such as Entennmann’s, Chimay, Global Beer Network, Gatorade, Propel, HTC, LG, Prudential, SONY, Optimum, Ashley Furniture, Post Foods, D’Artagnan,PSE&G and so many more.

Mark’s work has taken him around the world to so many awe-inspiring places and has placed him in every situation imaginable.
