Featured Client: Video Storytelling with the Community FoodBank of NJ

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey works with volunteers, donors and a variety of partners to help fight hunger and poverty in NJ. The FoodBank educates, empowers and seeks long-term solutions through a variety of programs and with support from community members.

While nearly one million people in NJ struggle with hunger, there are many who don’t know what this struggle is like and how they can help. Video storytelling is a powerful way for the FoodBank to show the impact made by donations and volunteer actions.

This year, in time for Giving Tuesday, the FoodBank contacted us to create engaging video content that focused on its volunteer community. Storytelling with video allows them to show what life would be like for many men, women and children without the help of the FoodBank’s volunteers and donors.Real Stories From Real People

We produced a series of testimonial-style videos with the FoodBank to share the stories of those positively impacted by the organization’s efforts and to demonstrate the power of volunteering.  Video storytelling is a great way to reach viewers online, and videos are the most engaging and sharable content on social media. The FoodBank’s Facebook page is the perfect place for distributing these videos, where they can be viewed and shared by others.

This video featuring FoodBank Production Manager Daryl Walker was recently picked up by Ebony.com and shared on their website and social channels to an audience of close to 1.2 million viewers! Video like this is the most engaging and impactful way to help viewers understand issues on a deeper level. Video is informative, but also emotionally compelling.

Brands Mark Has Worked With

Mark’s love and passion for photography started at a very young age. His father had built a darkroom in the basement of their house and for a young Mark, the spark was ignited. He saw the magic of watching a simple piece of photo paper transform into an image right in front of his eyes and he was hooked. Right then and there he decided he needed to be involved in that creative world somehow. Not knowing exactly where or how to break into the industry after graduating William Paterson University of New Jersey, Mark felt the best approach would be to start his own production company.

Professionally, Mark has spent the last 20+ years as a co-founder of Grey Sky Films and has directed thousands of videos. He feels lucky to have had the privilege to work with agencies and clients such as Entennmann’s, Chimay, Global Beer Network, Gatorade, Propel, HTC, LG, Prudential, SONY, Optimum, Ashley Furniture, Post Foods, D’Artagnan,PSE&G and so many more.

Mark’s work has taken him around the world to so many awe-inspiring places and has placed him in every situation imaginable.
